The ANZA community welcomes those from around the world and all walks of life, but one of our most honorary members certainly stands out from the rest. Kodie is a Riding for the Disabled Singapore (RDA) therapy pony and he has been an integral part of ANZA for many years.

Every year we host the ANZA Melbourne Cup Race Day to bring our Singapore community together in joyous revelry as we recreate the iconic Australian carnival, complete with live betting and big screens beaming the action in from Flemington in Melbourne. Not only is the event excellent fun, with great food and drinks on tap and our Fashions on the Field competition, but it’s also a fantastic opportunity to raise money for RDA and our #1 horse that heals, Kodie, through our Charity Prize Draw and sweeps.

Amazing travel prizes

One hundred percent of funds from both the draw and sweeps go to the upkeep of our equestrian friend who relies on us to keep her in tip-top condition. “RDA Singapore provides free therapeutic horse-riding programmes for children and adults with mental and physical disabilities,” explains ANZA’s GM Kerry Low. Annually, they need about $1.2 million to maintain their centre and the horses and ponies. ANZA is dedicated and proud to raise money to pay for Kodie’s yearly up-keep, food, health (medical and dental) and other costs. Sponsoring a horse or pony costs S$12,000 per year, and we hope to reach that target and beyond!”

After a two year hiatus, the Charity Prize Draw in support of RDA at this year’s Melbourne Cup is bigger and better than ever. Only available to Cup-goers, off-the-scale travel prizes include stays at the likes of:

Our partners have also contributed some fabulous goodies to the online auction such as stunning artwork, cool technology, an actual fridge filled with wine, gorgeous homeware from Island Living, and so much more.

As RDA Singapore is the only organisation on the island to provide equine therapy to those in need, there’s no excuse not to dig deep. Research shows that working with horses helps participants gain increased self-confidence, improved circulation, respiration, balance, motor coordination and mobility.
