Embrace the sporting life at Tanglin Trust School
At Tanglin Trust School, sport is an integral part of school life, celebrating achievement well beyond the classroom. With world-class facilities, expert coaching, and a strong commitment to developing every student’s potential, Tanglin’s sporting provision continues to go from strength to strength. “Our aim is to nurture and inspire lifelong participation in sport and physical activity,” says Dave Radcliffe, Director of Sport.
World-Class Facilities
Tanglin’s extensive sporting facilities support both participation and performance, providing students with outstanding environments in which to train, compete, and develop a lifelong love of sport. Highlights include: a World Rugby-approved playing field, 50m Aquatics Centre, an Olympic-standard Gymnastics Centre , Golf Simulator, 15m climbing wall, and a high-performance Athletic Development Gym with on-site Physiotherapy Clinic.

The Tanglin Lions IMPACT Programme
Now in its third year, the Tanglin Lions IMPACT Programme provides tailored support for students aspiring to excel in their chosen sports. Key components include strength and conditioning training, fitness testing, nutrition and leadership development, injury management, and elite athlete clinics. This personalised approach has helped a number of athletes achieve national representative honours and titles, while Tanglin’s senior teams continue to enjoy significant success both locally and across the region.
The Tanglin Sporting Journey
Tanglin strives to develop the potential of every student through positive and enriching sporting experiences. This journey begins in the Infant School, where children are introduced to a broad range of developmentally appropriate activities. As students progress through Junior School, opportunities to represent their House, Year Group, and the school become defining aspects of the Tanglin experience.
In the Senior School, students are encouraged to challenge and stretch themselves through a wide range of competitive sporting events, both in Singapore and across the region. As a member of FOBISIA and SEASAC, Tanglin offers aspiring athletes exceptional opportunities, including the Gold Coast Titans Touch tournament, the Hong Kong 7s for rugby, and netball at the Dubai 7s.
A Continued Legacy of Sport
Tanglin’s commitment to holistic sporting development has produced outstanding results both on and off the field. Alongside success across a wide range of team sports, two Tanglin Lions have achieved the highest marks in the world for A Level and GCSE Physical Education. Individually, a number of students have been selected to represent Singapore in touch, rugby, tennis, cricket, and squash.
Joy Koh, Director of Gymnastics at Tanglin, explains:
“Our goal is to provide a structured and inclusive environment where every student can thrive—whether recreational or competitive. I’m proud to work alongside an outstanding team of coaches delivering one of the strongest and largest programmes in the region.”

“Being part of the Tanglin Lions community has been an unforgettable part of my Tanglin journey,” reflects Chiara C (Year 13), Tanglin Gymnastics Captain 2025/26. “It’s given me countless opportunities to compete, develop resilience, and connect with others.”
