Green Architecture in the CBD
Discover how Singapore’s Central Business District became a “City in a Garden” starting back in 1967 with an ambitious tree-planting scheme, thoughtfully designed parks, and strict standards for sustainable green buildings. Our guide will explain what defines a green building in the tropics and introduces the architects behind Singapore’s award-winning structures.
We’ll meet at Raffles Place MRT (Exit B) and head to the recently opened CapitaSpring building, beginning with panoramic views from the rooftop Sky Garden on level 51 before wandering through the cascading green oasis spread over three lush levels.
After a refreshment break at Lau Pa Sat, we’ll continue to Marina One, a joint Singaporean-Malaysian integrated complex. Our final stop is the 27-storey Oasia Hotel in Tanjong Pagar, which genuinely looks like a giant living tree rising from the cityscape. There’ll be an optional lunch afterwards at OSO Italian restaurant.
