Shortcuts:

Where confidence & growth take centre stage

Every child has a story to tell, they just need the right stage to discover it. At Centre Stage School of the Arts, drama isn’t just about acting. It’s about helping young people find their voice, build confidence and develop the creative skills that will carry them far beyond the stage.

For younger children, drama classes are often where confidence begins. In these early years, imagination runs wild and that’s exactly what our classes celebrate. Through games, storytelling, improvisation and more, students learn to express themselves freely while building essential life skills. We use the tool that children naturally use to explore the world: play.

Young performers practise listening, collaborating and communicating clearly, all while having fun. Whether they’re imagining they are in a jungle or a magical kingdom, children are developing creativity and social confidence without even realising it. Drama gives children a safe and supportive space to try, fail, laugh and try again.

Creative outlet

As students grow into their teenage years, drama starts to become something deeper. Young people are learning how to express who they are and where they fit in the world, and drama training helps them do exactly that. Teens learn how to think on their feet, communicate clearly and present themselves with confidence. Speaking in class, preparing for future interviews and presentations or leading a team are just some of the ways drama training can help. Just as importantly, drama gives teenagers a creative outlet. It’s a space where they can explore new ideas, emotions and perspectives in a supportive environment alongside peers who share their curiosity and creativity.

Finally, Centre Stage can nurture and advise those who wish to make the performing arts a career. We have deep, specialist knowledge of the conservatoire training that is the best step into the industry. This year alone, we have guided 12 young performers into the world’s top performing arts academies.

“Young people are learning where they fit in the world, and drama training helps them do exactly that”

At Centre Stage, students are guided by experienced teachers who believe that every young person deserves the chance to be heard. Some students discover a love of performance and pursue theatre professionally, while others simply gain the confidence and communication skills to help them in whatever path they choose.

For families in Singapore looking for a place where their children can grow and express themselves, Centre Stage is always ready to welcome the next generation of storytellers. After all, every child deserves their Centre Stage moment.
