Hotspots: Coastes, Sentosa
Oooh, Coastes! Is it still Sentosa’s go-to eatery?
Without a doubt. Coastes is a proper Sentosa institution – the kind of place locals love, tourists stumble upon, and everyone seems to return to. For those new to the island, you’ll find it right on Siloso Beach, where the now iconic blue wooden tables spill out onto soft sand, sunbeds line the shore, and the dress code starts and ends with flip-flops.
You can’t not love it …
This is true. Coastes has been serving up beachy vibes for over 14 years, and in a landscape where F&B is struggling, it always remains a solid pick for vibes and relaxed dining with your toes in the sand. It’s unpretentious, totally family-friendly, and one of the easiest spots in Singapore to spend a whole day doing a whole lot of nothing.
What’s the food like these days?
Big portions, great prices, and more variety than ever. Coastes’ regularly refreshes its menu, meaning that there’s a huge amount of options for everyone and every taste. The refreshed à la carte menu keeps things casual but creative, with dishes that suit picky eaters, hungry teens, plant-based pals, and kids and parents looking for something satisfying after a Sunday morning with ANZA Nippers.
What’s new?
Pastas and risottos now take centre stage. Roasted Pistachio & Prawn Spaghetti is rich, creamy, and lifted with burnt butter, toasted pistachios, and Grana Padano. Other standouts include the Baby Scallop Risotto and the Tiger Prawn & Bacon Risotto – ideal for keeping energy levels up after burying Dad in the sand.
Got anything new for vegetarians?
This isn’t one of those menus where the plant-based options are a sad salad. Coastes now offers full-flavoured vegetarian dishes with proper texture and depth. The Bruschetta is a fresh twist on the classic Italian starter, served on gorgeous homemade focaccia. There’s a moreish Homemade Gnocchi with Mushroom & Pesto, and a spicy Spaghetti Arrabbiata. The Truffle & Mushroom Risotto is another big hitter.
Is there a best time to visit?
Any time, but we do like the brunch. On weekends and public holidays, it kicks off at 9am. The Confit Salmon & Avocado on Toast is generous and topped with perfectly poached eggs, and the Yoghurt & Granola Bowl delivers on crunch and creaminess. For small appetites, the Tomato Breakfast Sandwich with scrambled eggs is simple, solid choice.
Any room for dessert?
Defo save space! Coastes’ new matcha cheesecake is light, creamy, and served with a scoop of homemade matcha ice cream. It’s the kind of dessert that feels like a small reward for showing up and doing a beach day right.
Final thoughts?
Coastes hasn’t tried to reinvent itself, or its menu, and that’s part of the charm. You don’t come here for cutting-edge cuisine or white tablecloths. You’re here for fresh food, salty air, sandy toes, and the feeling that you could stay all day … and probably will.
