ANZA Cycling Disciplines
Discover Your Ride with ANZA Cycling
Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or just starting, ANZA Cycling has a place for you. Many of our members enjoy various cycling disciplines, from road cycling to off-road adventures and even triathlon. Explore our different sections and find your perfect fit!
Road Cycling
Join our Road section for social group rides, long-distance training, and competitive racing. You’ll need a road bike to participate in these rides – hybrids, fixies, mountain bikes, fold-up, and city bikes are not suitable.
We organise van-supported day and weekend trips to Malaysia and Indonesia for longer, uninterrupted rides. These trips cover distances from 120km a day to around 400km over a weekend, perfect for training for challenging events like the ‘Paris-Brest-Paris’.
Our members also compete in races across Southeast Asia, with weekly team training rides to enhance skill, speed, endurance, and strength. ANZA cyclists have achieved notable success in events such as Thailand’s Tour of Friendship and Tour of Chiang Mai, and Indonesia’s Tour de Bintan and Batam’s ‘Six Bridges’ races.
Off-Road Cycling
Get dirty with ANZA Off Road! This section includes Cyclocross (CX) and gravel riding/racing, which have gained immense popularity in Singapore. We have regular trail rides (day and night) on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays at Bukit Timah Nature Reserve and the MTB parks at Kent Ridge, Tampines, and Pulau Ubin. Night rides often conclude with a refreshing beer. For more details, contact [email protected].
Triathlon
The ANZA Triathlon community trains and competes in all multi-sport distances, from sprint and standard to half- and full Ironman-distance triathlons. We welcome newcomers and support seasoned athletes aiming for podium finishes and World Championship qualifying spots.
Leading up to popular events, ANZA Tri organizes swim sessions or ‘run-off-the-bike’ (ROTB) sessions, often followed by coffee or breakfast with fellow ANZA cyclists. Singapore offers a wealth of events for triathletes, including the local MetaSprint and Tri-Factor race series, multiple Ironman-branded races, and other events across Southeast Asia and worldwide.
