Sunday Competition League

ANZA Soccer’s Sunday Competition Teams represent the club in Singapore’s top youth football leagues, offering committed players the opportunity to compete at a higher level while staying grounded in our community-first philosophy.

Overview

Leagues Played

  • JSSL Singapore National Youth Leagues (U6–U18)
  • ESPZEN J-League (U8 & U10)
  • PUMA Youth Champions League (PYCL) (U18)

Seasons

  • Season 1: January – May
  • Season 2: September – December
  • ESPZEN and PYCL follow similar seasonal timelines with minor variations

Game Frequency

  • JSSL Division 1 teams play approx. 10 out of 12 Sundays
  • Lower divisions play approx. 7 out of 12 Sundays

  • ACS (Independent), Dover
  • Stamford American Int’l School
  • SAFRA Tampines
  • Tanglin Trust School
  • Lion City Sailors, Mattar Road
  • SUTD, Changi South

Structure & Eligibility

Eligibility

  • Open to registered Saturday League players only
  • Tryouts are mandatory for new and returning comp players
  • Grading and selection done by professional ANZA coaches
  • Sunday players must attend Saturday sessions weekly

Selection Criteria

  • Based on skill level, positional need, attitude, and team fit
  • Friendship or sibling requests may be considered but not guaranteed

Team Placement Process

  • Trials held twice a year (August & Dec/Jan)
  • Teams finalised and announced by early September and mid-January
  • Players not placed in a team will receive a full refund of comp fees

Fees & Inclusions

Sunday Competition Registration Fee inclusions (paid alongside Saturday registration)

  • Weekly competition team training (1–2x/week depending on program)
  • League entry fees (JSSL/ESPZEN/PYCL)
  • Competition match kit (jersey, shorts, socks)

Refunds

  • Issued only if a player cannot be accommodated on a team
  • No refunds after team placement emails are sent

Training & Expectations

Training

  • Sessions held on weekday evenings (schedule confirmed post-trials)
  • Attendance is mandatory; absences must be communicated to the coach or team manager
  • Current Competition League Training Timings

Match Day Expectation

  • Players are expected to show up on time & represent ANZA with sportsmanship and respect

Wet Weather Policy

  • Training continues in rain on astro turf
  • Sessions pause for lightning and resume when safe

  • Photo ID must be shown for JSSL on-site registration
