Sunday League Information

Sunday Competition Teams Program

ANZA Soccer Competition Teams represent ANZA Soccer in JSSL League competitions.

This program is open to boys and girls, and placement onto competition teams is subject to player grading, carried out by professional coaches.

Players who wish to participate must make payment of the Sunday competition registration fee $450 when signing up for the Saturday League, as competition teams will be determined very early in the season. Refunds for the competition team fee will be payable only in the odd instance that a player cannot be accommodated within the competition teams.

The competition fee includes competition kit (jersey, shorts and socks), external registrations fee and competition team training, which occurs once a week.

There is a strong emphasis on competition players attending any competition team training provided throughout the season. Training for U18s, Super League Group 14, Super League Group 16 and Championship League Group 16 will be on Tuesdays from 5-7pm. Remaining U10 and U12 competition teams will occur on Wednesday evenings and for U6 to U8s competition team training will occur on Thursday evenings.

Volunteer team managers, coaches and assistant coaches will be required for the Sunday games. Please advise if you are able to take on one of these roles.

Information about the Team formation and Grading Sessions

We will be holding team formation and grading sessions for each age group. It is a requirement that players attend all sessions, however, we understand that some families are away on school holidays, so please advise if you are unable to make any of these dates.

These sessions will be overseen by Head Coach Yakob and his team of professional coaches. Please ensure you arrive 15 minutes prior to your session for registration to ensure a prompt start.

ANZA Soccer – Sunday competition teams are representative teams, hence, teams will be formed based on positional requirements, skill level and ability. Therefore, friendships and siblings may be separated into the different Sunday teams or leagues – Super league and Championship league. If you require placement in a specific team due to siblings or friendships, please let us know, but it may require the more skilled player playing in a lower team.

Teams will be finalized in late August and parents will be emailed team placement. Competition fees will be refunded for players who are not selected. Please note that competition fees will not be refunded after the team lists have been emailed.

Where / What to bring and what to wear

All sessions will take place on the ANZA Soccer fields @ The Cage Sports Park, Turf City.

Players should bring plenty of water and have sunscreen and insect repellent applied if necessary. Please wear your ANZA soccer competition kit (yellow shirt), if you have one, or appropriate soccer attire, soccer boots and compulsory shin guards.

Wet Weather

We will not be updating a weather board for these sessions. The training will take place on astro turf pitches, and can be conducted during rain. However, in the instance of lightning – the session will be stopped and will recommence once it is safe.

Part of the success and spirit of ANZA Soccer is driven by our volunteer ethos. Volunteer parent coaches will be required for the Championship teams; in addition, all Super League and Championship league teams will require an assistant coach and team manager. Please let your Competition coordinator know if you are able to take on one of these rewarding roles.

The new competition kit will be made available in September and distributed to players via the team managers. We are looking forward to seeing you all on Wednesday 16th August. If you have any questions or unable to attend any of the sessions, please email your relevant Age Group Competition Co-ordinator.
